************************ Frog Breed Color Chart

Pocket Frogs Awards
Awards are earned by breeding frogs, amassing coins, and collecting frogs in your Froggydex. Experience points are awarded as soon as the conditions are achieved. A players list of awards won and not yet completed can be viewed through the awards menu in the main menu.
There are 73 Awards to complete 100% of the awards. (99% is really close without #73)
Awards 4 - 44 = 2000 xp Awards 45 – 66 = 4000 xp
A FEW BENEFITS OF MASTERING BREEDING
· It is fun and rewarding
· Awards give you a clear attainable focused goal
· You gain a lot of Experience Points (XP) and level up quickly
· With persistence you can produce all the coins you could possibly need
· You will be showered with gifts from the pond with coins, stamps, potions, scenery and frogs!
· A strategy that can work well in the beginning is to hop to at least one gift after taming every frog. You would be surprised how much treasure you can gather!
Completing the awards by breeding them yourself will give you simple gradual steps to potential abundance that is impossible to fully imagine. Gifting opens many opportunities and questions that require a tip sheet of its own. Gifting is wonderful and I highly encourage it but how fun would a crossword puzzle be if someone kept filling in all the answers for you? Pocket Frogs is more of a puzzle game. There are surprising “wins” everywhere you turn. The possibilities are endless! YOU WIN THE GAME BY PLAYING IT.
The secret that is seldom told is that the real reward is not completing the awards or a little bling bell sound on your device; it’s the valuable skills of patience, persistence and the mastery of accomplishment that also come with the experience of immensurable abundance. The skills you learn in Pocket Frogs can translate into more satisfaction in real life and in the game.
How do you know when you have mastered Breeding?
When you know without any doubt that you can breed any of the 19,504 possible frogs any time you want. Once you have tapped into the “Golden Goose” of breeding you will be liberated into a wealth of self sufficiency and able to truly participate in the circulation of a circle of unlimited abundant gifting. This is much more achievable than many think. I was able to master breeding without any gifts in a little over a month.
Be encouraged to find ways to create challenges for yourself, develop strategies and ask for assistance from other players. The journey is much more enjoyable when shared with fellow enthusiastic players.

It took me a little over a month to become a Master Breeder. I bred all of my own awards and intentionally received no gifts until completing level 16. Pocket Frog Mastery is much more achievable than it may seem in the beginning. At level 6 the idea of having a Biplex frog seemed about as likely as landing on the moon. Well we have been to the moon and it is easy to succeed in Pocket Frogs with just ONE HOP AT A TIME.
Remember, everything is possible and everyone starts with two frogs and one habitat!

Pocket Frogs Glossary
The Basic Fundamentals: Pocket Frogs Breeders Kit http://breederskit.blogspot.com

Be encouraged to explore the menus and try things to figure out how the game works.
Here are a few common terms and concepts that may be helpful.

Frog Names –
All 19,504 possible frogs can be recognized by the combination of three different attributes.
First is one of the 23 main Body Colors
Second is one of the 16 Pattern Colors
Third is one of the 53 Patterns or Breeds
Example: Red Albeo Zebrae (see the full colors chart)

Habitats – Habitats are where frogs live. A maximum of eight frogs can dwell in each habitat. The number of habitats a player can purchase is limited to fifteen, plus one Nursery. A background is not a habitat. Backgrounds are purely decorative. Backgrounds and habitats cannot be gifted or sold. A complete list of all habitat backgrounds with photos http://pocketfrogs.wikia.com/wiki/Habitats
Scenery – Plants, flowers and objects placed in habitats or nursery for decoration and to increase the happiness of frogs. A maximum of seven scenery items can be added to each habitat. Scenery can be moved to different habitats, sold, or gifted. It takes about 186 points of happiness from scenery to maintain 100% happiness for eight frogs in one habitat. Scenery can be found as pond gifts, purchased in the supply shop, games or received as gifts from other players. A complete list of all scenery with photos http://pocketfrogs.wikia.com/wiki/Scenery
Frog Menu – When you touch a frog the Frog Menu opens. At the bottom there are options to move the frog to another habitat, take to the pond or sell (The share button, which is not to be confused with gifting only posts to other sites and is rarely used). Once a frog is tamed additional options appear, breed, catalog, gift and games. The Frog Menu also includes the full name and statistics of rarity, level, maturity, happiness, racing statistics and coin values.

Pond – Take frogs to the pond from the button in the frog menu. The happy place where frogs hop to eat flies to mature and be tamed. Be on the lookout for gift packages with coins, scenery, stamps, potions, backgrounds and frogs. Your tamed frogs can also breed with wild frogs you find in the pond.

Frog Breeding – A frog must go to the pond and eat enough flies to be Tamed. After returning to the habitat, mature tamed frogs can now be bred with any other tamed mature frog in that habitat. You can select different frogs to see the possible offspring. There is a coin cost listed for breeding that combination in the green breed button at the bottom. Once you press breed an egg goes into your nursery. Refer to the breed hatch and maturity time list. Mature tamed frogs can also breed with wild frogs in the pond.

Nursery – The nursery has all the same attributes as other habitats except it is where eggs are deposited and hatch. Frogs can be moved out of the nursery once they hatch.

Main Menu – The button on lower right switches between the main menu and habitat view.
Mailbox - When you find items in the pond, order new items or receive gifts, they will go into your mailbox for delivery. The mailbox can only hold a maximum of eight items. Delivery can be rushed by using stamps. One stamp is equal to four hours of time.
Daily Gift – a free bonus that can be claimed each day in the main menu.
Froggydex – The Dex automatically records every frog you have ever had in your habitats. New frogs are added to the dex as soon as it is an egg in the nursery or a mature frog from the mailbox when placed in a habitat. The Froggydex has a complete list of all of the colors and breeds up to your current level.
Basic StrategyThe only way to “Win” in pocket frogs is to play the game. There are many activities that can be enjoyed. To gain mastery in the game one must reach level 16 and have the ability to breed any frog desired. The milestones to this achievement are most often supported by breeding as much as possible. Breed and sell your highest level mature frogs that are 100% happy to get the most coins to buy a new habitat at each level. Breeding is an excellent way to increase Experience Points (XP) and level up quickly. Make an effort to collect a couple of each frog breed in a variety of colors. Breeding all of the awards is a guaranteed way to achieve mastery, level up quickly and have a lot of fun.

Awards – There are 73 different challenges available to increase bonus XP and gain valuable game skills. Awards are earned by breeding specific frog combinations or reaching certain goals. Awards can be accomplished individually in no specific order.

XP – Experience points are accumulated by playing the game to unlock each achievement level and rewards.

Stamps – Can be used to speed mailbox delivery and are required to send a gift. One stamp is equal to four hours of delivery time. To send a gift costs one stamp.

Potions – Can be used to speed up frog maturity. One potion takes off four hours of maturity time. Potions also reduce the time eggs take to hatch.

Levels – By gaining XP each level unlocks two new frog breeds and adds bonus coins, potions and stamps. All of the 37 basic frog breeds are found in the first 16 levels.

Potion Frogs – There are 16 additional potion frog breeds that can only be purchased in the FrogMart for 25 potions or received as a gift. You cannot find a potion frog in the pond. Breeding attributes are the same as all other frogs.

Additional Pocket Frogs Terms

Alerts - You can click alerts in the frog menu to get a notification when an egg hatches or a frog matures. Alerts can also be used for letting you know when something has arrived in your mailbox.

Catalog – You can save up to 50 frogs of your choice to be able to purchase in the future for three times the regular coin value.

Gifting – Sending gift frogs and scenery to other players using the gift button in the frog menu. Not to be confused with the share button. You must sign up for an ID user name and be online to give and receive.

Requests – A bonus breeding challenge to gain additional coins, stamps and potions. Usually frog requests are possible to breed from frogs already in your habitats. Requests can also be declined and a new one will arrive in time.

Games – In the game section of the frog menu there is the option to complete puzzles or race frogs to win frogs, scenery, coins, stamps and potions similar to pond gifts. There must be space in the mailbox to win.

FrogMart – Purchase frogs at below max value with game coins and potions.
Supply Shop – Purchase scenery and backgrounds with game coins.
Pro Shop – A real money in game store to buy stamps, potions, a babyproof kit that allows you to move eggs out of the nursery and an express mailbox that reduces mailbox shipping times in half.

Weekly Sets – Collecting the Weekly Sets can win rewards of stamps and potions. A new set of frogs is released every week on Wednesday night at midnight EST (U.S. Eastern time) Unlike when completing Awards, completing a Weekly Set does not require all frogs to be in the same Habitat. Also, the frogs will not be removed from your possession when the Weekly Set is redeemed, unlike frog requests. Past Weekly Sets can be completed but only in reverse chronological order. It is easiest to not make collecting sets a priority until you are at a high enough level to breed them. Many generous players are willing to gift extra individual frogs or sets when they are available.

Dexxing – To collect in the Froggydex a full set of 368 frogs of a whole breed with all of the possible color combinations.

Color Wheel – There is a variety of color wheel styles used for dexxing. The basic concept is a collection of 23 frogs that include all of the body colors and secondary colors of a breed. Three habitats are required for this type of color wheel. Check out http://tinyurl.com/6rsrwjv for a ton of great links

Color Set – a set of 16 frogs all in one color with one of each secondary pattern color.

Seed Frog – A frog with two of the three attributes you are trying to breed.
Example: If you need a White Picea---Zebrae and you have a Blue Picea Zebrae (seed frog)

Breeding Pair - Two identical frogs, to breed more of the same frog. Used often for breeding awards. It is also a fundamental term for any two frogs that are bred together.

Starter Frog – a single frog from a set or award.

Clone – You can purchase any frog you have ever had from your Dex for ten times the regular coin value.

There is also a massive list of additional Pocket Frogs links at http://pocketfrogslinks.blogspot.com/

  1. Hi there, Just a couple of comments to help out. If you don't agree with something, just ignore it - no problem.

    1. Froggydex - the term "complete list" is used but that is only true after you have had every breed in your dex. It starts out being a list of breeds you have already had and grows with each new breed you get.

    2. Colour wheel - 32 frogs should be 23 frogs

    3. Breeding pair - I thought that one of each of 2 different breeds could also be a breeding pair. examples where this would apply are set #48 Bullseye and set #43 Skeleton crew.

It was a good read and looks like you have hit on pretty much every topic!!
